NRAS has been notified of a new hydrotherapy service in the West Midlands area that we thought you might like to know about.
NRAS isn't promoting this specific hydrotherapy service or therapist but we are happy to channel the information we have received to members who are interested as hydrotherapy is reported to be immensely beneficial for people with rheumatoid arthritis.
We originally received an enquiry from Fraser Pressdee of FSR Physiotherapy who said he was setting up a hydrotherapy pool in the Oldbury area of the West Midlands and was interested to know if NRAS knew of people who may benefit from this service. We responded to say that some of our members in the West Midlands area would be very interested in being able to access hydrotherapy and we are now pleased to share the following information and details:
Fraser Pressdee is an independent physiotherapist working in the private sector. He is in the process of establishing a hydrotherapy service to utilise his experience in this field for those with long term needs. Fraser is aware that the NHS is only able to provide hydrotherapy on a short term basis and is unable to meet the needs of individuals requiring ongoing input.
The pool is based at 'The Meadows School' on a Thursday evening from 6:00-6:30pm and 6:30-7:00pm. The Meadows Sports College

The sessions are £5 per person and are supervised by a qualified physiotherapist. Fraser is happy to discuss the service offered to either individuals or give a presentation to a group/meeting.
If you, or anyone else would like to discuss the service further, Fraser Pressdee can be contacted on 0121 285 0284. At present he does not have a specific website for the hydrotherapy service, although Fraser’s other clinic can be located at
www.hagleyroadphysio.co.uk. This site does not mention the hydrotherapy service.
